John C.M. Ross is a founding partner of Ross Taylor & Associates, a full-service governmental affairs and strategic consulting firm based in Alabama. With over two decades of experience in public policy, campaign strategy, and political advocacy, Ross brings a proven track record of results to clients across a broad spectrum of industries—including utilities, construction, manufacturing, higher education, infrastructure, and healthcare.

In addition to his extensive experience in government and politics, Ross is also a successful entrepreneur. His firsthand understanding of business operations gives him a unique perspective on the regulatory, economic, and operational challenges that affect employers every day.

Earlier in his career, Ross served as Executive Director of the Alabama Republican Party. Under his leadership, the GOP achieved a historic political shift in 2010, gaining control of the Alabama Legislature for the first time in 136 years and securing supermajorities in both chambers. His strategic guidance also contributed to Republican victories in all statewide offices and the pickup of two congressional seats.

Ross has also served as District Representative for U.S. Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL 4) and was a member of Governor Bob Riley's 2002 campaign and inaugural team. As a principal campaign consultant, he has led more than a dozen successful races at both the state and federal levels.

Ross holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama.

He lives in Guntersville with his wife, Allison, a hospital executive and former media publisher. They have two children.

Charlie Taylor is a founding partner of Ross Taylor & Associates, a full service governmental affairs and strategic consulting firm based in Alabama.

Prior to co-founding Ross Taylor & Associates, Charlie served as the Vice Chancellor of External Affairs for the University of Alabama System, where he managed state and federal government affairs for seven years. In that role, Charlie oversaw lobbying efforts resulting in billions of state and federal funding for capital projects and operational needs of the University of Alabama, UAB, UAH, and the UAB Health System, and managed numerous policy initiatives in education and healthcare.

In addition, Charlie has extensive experience managing public affairs and fundraising efforts for political and issue-based activities.

Charlie received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2017 and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Alabama in 2014. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama, the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, and the Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority. Charlie lives in Tuscaloosa with his wife, Ashton, and their son, Charlie.
